INFINITE SHUFFLE MODE EPISODE #34: Across the Road
I Love you ALL
INFINITE SHUFFLE MODE: Across the Road
What’s up, Shufflers? How are you doing?
I’m great! Been loving some music new and old this week and it’s time to get cranking on some more song recommendations. So here’s what we got for today! (If the Spotify embed doesn’t match, the playlist on Spotify is the correct one)
A$AP Rocky - Wassup
I’ve been feeling nostalgic lately, so it’s been really cool to come back to this project and reminisce about a time when we were all discovering A$APMOB. I was in high school just learning how to download music off of something that wasn’t iTunes and oh what a THRILL it was.
I will always say that LIVE.LOVE.ASAP is Rocky’s best project and one of the best mixtapes of all time.
Produced by the GOD Clams Casino, the ‘Wassup’ beat paired with Rocky’s flows was too good to fail.
Hi! Future Kofie here! Just wanted to stop and say if you refer this newsletter to 5 people that sign up you’ll get a shoutout in the next newsletter!
Hardsoul - Back Together (feat. Ron Carroll)
IT’S TRUE. I NEVER MEANT TO MAKE YOU CRY
I’m in a serious House phase and it’s honestly never going to go away because of jams like this one. I’m TELLING YOU It’s going to be hard for you to skip this song whenever this song hits your headphones. It’s impossible to not to vibe to it. During a zoom meeting? In the car? At the pregame? This song fits anywhere.
Try it! (Make sure your Zoom mic is muted)
There are also 11 versions of the song on Spotify at least so you’ll be able to pick the version you love best. This is one of my favorite hooks of all time and I’m willing to bet that it will become one of yours too!
I wasn’t kidding. ELEVEN VERSIONS. I’m not complaining though. Summer is here and it’s time to get your dance on.
Wynne - CATALYST II
The Portland rapper has been on a creative tear recently and she’s only going up from here. From her song “Look at You” to “Jaw Morant”, she’s on a super high trajectory and the sky is the limit in my opinion.
The song that’s in my rotation the most is CATALYST II. Where Wynne shows a phenomenal display of multiple flows and an endless flurry of lyrics that make you do what I call the “Funk Flex Face”.
BARS. Wynne makes it look effortless, and that’s one of the highest compliments I can give.
Calabasas - Gory Love
The Los Angeles Music duo has a very promising future.
Watrcup and Franskiiz are the perfect match for each other as their earworm beats and verses make you want to hit the loop feature. They also already have the music video thing down to a science as each song has a video that really amplifies how hard it hits.
I’m expecting more heat from them down the road… and you should too.
ACTION ACTION - Paper Cliché
For those of you that played NCAA Baseball 06, I just took you on a wild nostalgia journey. This video game had NO BUSINESS having a soundtrack this good. For a band that hasn’t made music since 2010, this banger will forever be timeless and It’s perfect for getting out that last rep at the gym.
Sample of the week:
Pete Schofield And The Canadians - The Night The Lights Went Out In Georgia
The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia has been around since 1973 and has been the subject of multiple covers. The most popular being Reba McEntire’s 1991 version.
But I’m not here to talk about that version. I’m here to talk about the Pete Schofield And The Canadians version.
Did you hear that? You should be able to recognize where I’m going with this.
.
.
.
.
There’s a special someone that samples this version and his name is JOHN CENA!
As a bonus, I’m going to add one of the funniest videos I’ve ever seen.
Thank you for getting to the end of another newsletter. I’m here all week. Follow me on my socials to share music and talk to me about any and everything. I have a Twitch stream that goes live 4 times a week also.
