Infinite Shuffle #31: Oceans and Mirages

Happy Monday!

What’s up shufflers! I’m back with a new playlist of heat for y’all. Hope you enjoy it!

Artist of the week: Joyce Wrice

Project of the week: Overgrown

Joyce Wrice is on the scene now. With her new album “Overgrown” just releasing today I just want to say that it’s really damn good R&B. Her singing matched with the dynamic vibes all across the album make for a really fun listening experience. She also has stellar features from Lucky Daye, Freddie Gibbs, Kaytranada, and Masego to name a few.

This newsletter is so much better when the weather is warmer because I can actually vibe in the backyard.

SONGS OF THE WEEK:

Remi Wolf - Photo ID (with Dominic Fike)

This is the perfect balance of vibes and sporadic energy. Remi Wolf is incredible and I think Dominic Fike is one of the most talented people in his generation. This song is just chaotic fun and I really rock with the song and music video heavy.

KYLE - But Cha (feat. Josh Golden)

Kyle is back with an all-new song just in time for SPRING. ‘But Cha’ is a short bouncy breath of fresh air and Josh Golden shines on the chorus. A lot of Kyle's music is perfect for warm weather and he’s been giving us good songs for a decade now.

PICKWICK - Turncoat

Pickwick is a fun indie band. The blends they put in their music really work well together. I love the effects that also go into their music. The echo sounds really ethereal in headphones, which is all I ask for in a song sometimes.

SoLonely - silencethefeelings

Sad Chill is the ultimate Youtube channel to find… well sad chill music. This is great for staring at the ceiling and watching the colors change in my room.

Sample of the Week: Menahan Street Band: The Traitor.

When Kid Cudi burst onto the scene over a decade ago, he changed hip-hop forever. His music made you feel like you were on another planet, and a lot of that was thanks to the out-of-this-world production that would happen. Emile Haynie, the producer behind other classics like Kanye’s Runaway and Lana Del Rey’s Born to Die, slowed down this song and turned it into Kid Cudi’s Solo Dolo.

A perfect song.
